LONDON (AP)—The new chairman of England’s Football League, Greg Clarke, has
pledged to pursue a policy of transparency over club finances when he takes over
the job next month.

Clarke was chairman of Leicester when the club went into financial
administration in 2002 and then led a consortium to buy the club back.

He said Friday he believes in complete transparency about accounts, balance
sheets, assets and risks in order to avoid similar financial problems.
